Specialisti del Colore: twenty years in business, a new space for the future

A complete refurbishment project, from design to site management, delivered in just ten days.

Some anniversaries invite us to look back, while others become an opportunity to imagine the future.
To celebrate its first twenty years in business, Specialisti del Colore chose to completely renovate its hair salon for men and women, entrusting IDP Design & Communication with the design, planning and coordination of the entire project.

This was not simply a furniture update, but a complete refurbishment that radically transformed both the appearance and functionality of the salon. The project included demolition works, structural alterations, wall finishes, new flooring, systems, workstations, bespoke furniture, display structures, the reception desk and the waiting area.

The objective was to create a contemporary, distinctive and efficient space while keeping the closure period to an absolute minimum. It was a demanding challenge, addressed through extremely precise planning.

A complete refurbishment delivered in just ten days

From the start of demolition to the completion of the final fit-out, the entire project took just ten days. A record timeframe made possible by defining every stage in advance, carefully managing supplies and directly coordinating all the specialist trades involved.

Builders, electricians, installers, carpenters, metalworkers, decorators and suppliers worked according to a shared schedule and under a single project management structure.

The ten-day construction period represents more than speed alone. It is the tangible result of a working method based on design, organisation and control. Reducing downtime also meant limiting the financial impact of the project and enabling the salon to resume operations as quickly as possible.

A minimal, contemporary and bright interior

The new environment is characterised by a minimal, contemporary and bright style. The colour palette, based on a balanced combination of white, black, grey and wood tones, creates an elegant and professional image.

Light surfaces enhance the natural light, while darker elements define the different functions and add rhythm to the space.

The black metal structures organise products and equipment without visually weighing down the interior. The bespoke furniture becomes an integral part of the architecture, improving organisation, storage capacity and visual continuity.

The large circular backlit mirrors are the project’s most distinctive feature. Their repetition creates depth, enhances the workstations and gives the salon a more dynamic character.

The new reception desk, featuring a marble-effect finish, wood-toned details and integrated lower lighting, combines hospitality, functionality and visual impact.

The waiting area has also been redesigned. The large sofa, with its soft, rounded form, and the black chandelier introduce comfort and personality, creating a refined contrast with the clean lines of the overall interior.

Every decision was assessed not only for its aesthetic value, but also for its ability to improve everyday operations. The arrangement of the workstations, the movement of staff and customers, the product displays and the storage areas were all designed to make the salon easier to use, more organised and more functional.

Designing aesthetics also means designing efficiency

This is what project economy means to us: not simply choosing the least expensive solution, but focusing the investment on the elements capable of generating the greatest aesthetic, operational and long-term value.

One project, many coordinated skills

IDP managed the project from the initial concept through to final delivery, providing the client with a single point of contact and transforming the complexity of a complete refurbishment into a fast and controlled process.

Today, the new Specialisti del Colore salon reflects a business with an established history and a clear focus on the future.
